Russian State Duma election held September 2021. United Russia retained its supermajority amid allegations of widespread fraud and the imprisonment of opposition leader Alexei Navalny.
Armenian parliamentary election held June 2021 following the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war. Nikol Pashinyan's Civil Contract party won a majority despite intense opposition criticism over the conflict.
Chilean presidential election held November–December 2021. Gabriel Boric, 35, became Chile's youngest-ever president, defeating far-right candidate Jose Antonio Kast.

Moroccan parliamentary election held September 2021. The National Rally of Independents swept to victory, ending nine years of Islamist PJD dominance under Prime Minister Benkirane.
Norwegian parliamentary election held September 2021. The centre-left bloc won, ending eight years of conservative rule; Jonas Gahr Støre became prime minister.
Peruvian presidential election held April–June 2021. Pedro Castillo, a rural school teacher and union leader, narrowly defeated Keiko Fujimori in a disputed runoff.

Zambian presidential election held August 2021. Hakainde Hichilema of the UPND ended 27 years of Patriotic Front dominance by defeating incumbent Edgar Lungu in the first round.
