Prime Minister
The head of government in parliamentary and some semi-presidential systems, accountable to the legislature.
Explanation
A prime minister (PM) leads the government in parliamentary and semi-presidential systems. The PM is typically the leader of the largest party or coalition in parliament and must maintain parliamentary confidence to stay in office. Unlike a president in a presidential system, the PM can be removed at any time if parliament withdraws its support. The PM chairs cabinet meetings, sets the government's policy agenda, and represents the government domestically and sometimes internationally. In some countries the equivalent role has a different title — Chancellor in Germany and Austria, President of the Council of Ministers in Italy, Taoiseach in Ireland.
