Sweden's Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterna) are the dominant force of the 20th-century Swedish model: universal welfare, strong unions, and an export-heavy mixed economy. After losing government in 2022 for the first time in nearly a decade, they're looking for an answer to a country that has shifted right on crime, migration, and the energy question they thought was settled.
