Cleopatra VII
Last active ruler of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt (69–30 BC), Cleopatra VII was a shrewd political operator who forged strategic alliances with Julius Caesar and later Mark Antony to preserve Egyptian sovereignty against Rome. Her death ended three centuries of Ptolemaic rule.
