Ho Chi Minh
Vietnamese revolutionary and statesman (1890–1969) who founded the Viet Minh independence movement, led the defeat of French colonial rule at Dien Bien Phu in 1954, and guided North Vietnam through the early years of the Vietnam War. He died before the country's reunification but became its founding national symbol.
